Michael S. Boley

Former Mendon resident, Michael S. Boley, age 68, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2012 at Centennial Hospital in Ashland City, Tennessee.

Born on September 6, 1943 in Piqua, Ohio he was the son of Grace (Shane) Boley, who survives in Celina and the late Roger M. Boley.

Mike married Cheryl Adams on April 29, 1967 and she survives in Corinth, Mississippi. Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and George Huttick and grandson, George Michael Huttick of Clarksville, Tennessee. A brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Denny and Deb Adams survive in Mendon.

After attending school in Celina and then Coldwater, Mike received a Bachelor's Degree from Wright State University and a Master's Degree from Indiana University.

He worked as an engineer for 23 years at Goodyear in St. Marys. He later retired from General Motors, where he had worked in plants in Atlanta and Ft. Wayne.

Mike was a Brother of The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War - Fort Donelson Camp #62 and a Member of the Sons of Veterans Reserve. He was a member of the Mendon-Union School Board for 8 years, and also had served as President.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Mendon United Methodist Church, Rev. David Howell and Rev. Don Clinger, officiating. A Celebration of Life Dinner will follow in the Fellowship Hall of the Church.

Donations in memory of Mike may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or to the American Red Cross.
